Saddle Hills County
A community app that brings members, news, and resources together.

Saddle Hills County is a rural municipality in Alberta’s Peace Country, running west to the British Columbia border. Its residents are spread across farms, acreages and small hamlets, and the local economy rests on grain, canola, forestry and energy.
The Saddle Hills County app, powered by Communikit, carries Council notices, road and grading updates, agricultural services news, events and county documents. Administration publishes once, and a road closure or fire ban can reach every household on push, SMS and voice from the same screen.
Explore the app
In a county this size, a road closure or a burning restriction matters to people who may be an hour from the office. Everything the county publishes lands in one feed, with tabs for News, Events, Jobs and Documents. Residents no longer have to check a website, a newspaper and a social media page to find out what changed this week.
An app that feels like Saddle Hills County
Members search for Saddle Hills County by name and find their own app — the community’s crest on the icon, its colours through every screen, its own language in place of a generic shell.
Administration keeps full control. Staff decide who can post, which groups receive what, and whether a notice goes out as an ordinary update or as a critical alert that bypasses Do Not Disturb. Registered members get a personalised feed and can save the posts that matter to them; everyone else still sees every public notice.
Agricultural programs that reach producers
When the county became a satellite drop-off office for the Peace Country Beef & Forage Association’s feed sample program, the notice went out as one News post explaining what feed testing offers and where producers could drop off their samples. It stayed in the feed for anyone who missed the push notification.
