Communikit at the NCAI 83rd Annual Convention & Marketplace
The Communikit team joined Tribal leaders in Palm Springs, California, for the National Congress of American Indians 83rd Annual Convention & Marketplace, held October 18–22, 2026.
About the convention
The National Congress of American Indians has defended Tribal sovereignty since 1944. Its Annual Convention & Marketplace brought together Tribal leaders, citizens and partners for five days of policy sessions, the 2026 Annual Policy Resolutions process, the Youth Convention, Cultural Night and the Honor Awards.
At the Marketplace
Our team spent the week at the Marketplace, meeting Tribal Council members, administrators and communications staff from Nations across the United States. Visitors saw a Tribal-branded app on a phone, then watched the same post go out from the admin portal.
What we heard
Many of the conversations came back to the same problem: reaching citizens who live off the reservation, across state lines or in other parts of the country. Tribal partners such as the Bishop Paiute Tribe, the Fort Mojave Indian Tribe and the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi already use Communikit to keep those citizens connected.
Around Palm Springs
Outside Marketplace hours, the team joined evening events and spent time in the city at the foot of the San Jacinto Mountains.
